There is nothing like a Dame: The outrageous censorship of Kensington’s biggest blog

We’re  shocked  saddened and disgusted to see that our  fellow Kensington blog From The Hornets Nest have been taken down.

Yes. The whole blog.

So  who has been stung so hard by “The Dame” and her Hornets that they decided to get Google to take the blog off air?

RBKC? The Government? Could the comments section be getting too heated?

No – here’s a clue….

https://www.business-sale.com/news/business-sale/inside-a-distressed-acquisition-inc-cos-takeover-of-makerson-224141

This blog is appalled at this censorship of  Kensington’s biggest and  longest running topical blog, that as well as keeping residents well-informed  about the goings on and campaigning on important issues  here and beyond for over 15 years, has also been instrumental in inspiring many other blogs in the area to get up and running, including ourselves.

We hope that FTHN  will  make a welcome return to the Kensington “blogosphere” soon. They are  greatly missed.

We are horrified that an individual who used to work at Google and has, let’s just  say  received a negative press for allegedly leaving innocent people out of pocket, has taken an exception to some of their articles and got his contacts to pull the entire blog from the Web. A

There are  procedures in place already  that others can take if they feel articles are unfair, untrue and unrepresentative of themselves,  but the underhand manipulative and censorious measures that have been undertaken  against FTHN fly in the face of that. So much for a free press and a free country.

Even though this possibly might risk getting THINK in trouble, if the way things are going now means that blogs will be shut up and shut down all  because someone who has worked for/has friends at Google, objects to a few articles, then we’ll just have to take that risk.

This is a devasting, terrifying and  grossly unfair attack on investigative journalism, topical blogs and the freedom of speech. Therefore it is all the more important for other blogs here to stand  in solidarity with the Dame, stand up for what the blogs do for our community, stand up to the censors  and call  this unfair behaviour and these unjust actions out.

Dear Debbie

For fifteen years residents of Kensington & Chelsea have considered this blog to be the voice of residents. https://www.blogger.com/blogin.g?blogspotURL=http://fromthehornetsnest.blogspot.com/&type=blog

It campaigns on issues of planning and community affairs: everything Google claims important to it.

A Scott Dylan, who featured in one blog boasted that he was able to get From The Hornets Nest Blogspot removed ‘because he once worked at Google and still knew people within your company to facilitate this.’

I have his written evidence of this.

Barclays Bank have initiated an action against Mr Dylan to recover £13 million he and others have removed from company accounts by conspiracy

The enclosed profile on Mr Dylan is something your team should read.

The community in Kensington & Chelsea are outraged that Google has allowed one man with a very controversial background to manipulate Google.

It is difficult believe that a man the subject of  such highly negative national press comment (in the Times, Daily Telegraph, Daily Mail Guardian) has been able to persuade Google to remove a blog which fights on behalf of the community.

James Hurley, deputy business editor of the Times and Sunday Times, has written extensively about Mr Dylan and I will report to him that Google has acted on behalf of Mr Dylan.

Does this action really reflect Google’s values?

Earlier today we received one such email, and we took the blog down for a while whilst we sought legal and technical advice. We might only be a little community blog, but won’t let ourselves be intimidated and we will stand firm against our other blogger friends being bullied and threatened too, so here it goes back up again.

And here are some further links to other media just so our readers can see what this is all about :

  1. Well said, THINK,
Taking down the Hornet’s Nest is an attack on democracy by Google. It is the opposite of what we stand for: informed people speaking freely and challenging the powerful…
The Dandy stands with the Dame and hopes to see her back online very soon.

  2. A shocking blow for free speech. When access to information is so controlled, we need voices that can question – and disseminate information for balance and transparency. Bring back FTHN. Bring back free speech to RBKC. Thanks to THINK – & keep going Dame, you have many supporters on your quest for truth.

  3. About time FTHN was taken down. The whole thing had descended into a perpetual ‘let’s insult those we don’t like’ circle jerk with no consequences for those who enjoy causing others distress. A poisonous blog with nasty people allowed to spew their venom; those who try to fight back or defend themselves are vilified even further. Hate speech under the guise of free speech. Good riddance.

  5. Nov 26 is clearly a member/supporter of the Emma Dent Coad clique of Stalinists. This clique would remove any media critical of their anti democratic/anti semitic ways. The Hornet is widely read and admired. If you don’t like the comments don’t read them. The Hornet will soon be back. A man with a very dubious background managed to get Hornet taken down: a man who lost a lot of people a lot of money. It shows what sort of person you in celebrating the success of a rogue

    1. I’m not an EDC supporter. I am a local resident who expects not to find people being slandered and harassed unnecessarily on a supposed ‘key community blog’. This has absolutely nothing to do with EDC or her, as you put it, ‘clique of stalinists’. Truth be told I have supported those who identify as Labour, Conservative and Lib Dem in my time.

Reading endless impertinent (and often incorrect) comments about someone’s upbringing and their personal life (no matter who the person is) on blog posts that have nothing to do with that person has absolutely no benefit to anyone. It is widely known that FTHN over the last few years has been used as an outlet for people to insult, harass and threaten others (of all political parties and persuasions) under the cover of anonymity. The introduction of ‘comment moderation’ on the blog made absolutely no difference as people were still allowed to spout unfounded claims with no rebuttal accepted from those whose names were dragged through the mud.

Don’t mention EDC or antisemitism to me because this has nothing to do with either. If you want to play that game I could mention the countless instances of islamophobia and racism directed towards both Labour and Conservative politicians on the blog.

It’s such a shame to see what had happened to a once great blog which (used to) rightly and regularly call out those in our community who do wrong or deserve to be hung out to dry for their dodgy dealings. I hope FTHN never returns and let this be a reflection to all those who contributed to the culture of slander and harassment on the site in its last few dying months. As a tax paying local I am entitled to my view just as much as anyone else.

  8. Please explain why you changed your name from Gareth Dylan Reece. It would seem perfectly adequate? Also, why the mass of negative press comment about you and your company Inc&Co. I understand Private Eye is now investigating you. Through you, ordinary folk have lost fortunes they could not afford. Companies associated with you owe HMRC hundreds of thousands of pounds. Employees have been left with pensions lost. Dylan? you are a very bad man. That is why the media have taken you apart.

  9. Mr Piacquadio, the administrator of one of the companies Dylan is associated with has a further responsibility to report to the secretary of state any concerns about the conduct of a past or present director. “I confirm that the report to the Secretary of State has been submitted along with supporting evidence of misconduct identified,” Would Mr Dylan care to explain why a senior practitioner would report you to the Secretary of State?

  10. Scott Dylan or Gareth Dylan Reece emailed me and said if I signed an agreement not to write about him and his activities he would cease to put up(fiction) about me. Journalists who know him tell me he has mental health issues which is why one treads carefully. However, these issues cannot be used to hide behind whilst he behaves badly. I have told him that I will continue to shine a light on him and would sign no such agreement.

https://www.thebusinessdesk.com/northwest/news/2109171-the-murky-world-of-inc-and-the-questions-jack-mason-wont-answer. I am puzzled. Reading the blog that Mr Dylan complains of I can see nothing that can cause him offence. The only possible offence might be that he worked for Google. It now transpires that in fact he claims Google was a client. He has written in a email that he has contacts at Google and implies he could try to assist in getting FTHN back up. Apart from that, the links to the newspapers are matters of fact. If Mr Dylan believes he has been defamed by the Times why is he not attacking the Times and other newspapers. Mr Dylan has always claimed he has PTSD and suicidal thoughts. If this is true he must understand that the way he does business has bought may to the edge of a nervous breakdown. The owner of one company has graphically described how Mr Dylan pushed him to the edge. I have also evidence from those whose deposits were stolen that they needed to visit their doctor for help. Mr Dylan has a ruthless approach to business. He continually claims he is a victim yet creates a mass of victims in his wake. The reason why Mr Dyaln never carries through his treats to sue for defamation is because there would be multiple witnesses queuing up to testify against him. I ed by suggesting that The Times newspaper is very carefully about what it writes. If Mr Dylan believes he has been traduced by it he shpuld stop threats against community spirited blogs and take on Mr Murdoch.

This a national story of Google closing down free speech. Google is too powerful to ignore. The national papers need to expose this abuse of power and they need to get hammered. What next?? This North Kensington closed down too?

Pathetic to read about Mr Dylan. Between the lines he is perhaps a sick and mentally troubled person. This deserves our sympathy. But civil society cannot allow itself to be fashioned by outlaws

  13. The Hornet exposed Dent Coad’s appalling double standards. Emma only likes the Hornet when the Tories are in the barrel.

There is evidence that she is antisemitic and racist to Black people. She “liked” an antisemitic social media feed and called Shaun Bailey AM, ” a freeloading scumbag” and “a token ghetto boy” which she followed up with a drawing of him being hanged. Nice! A lovely woman! A right charmer who is most unsuitable to represent Blacks and Jews.

She once proclaimed to me, “Moylan is gay.” When I did not comment she repeated her proclamation twice. There are worse things to be than gay. Homophobia, antisemitism and racism goes hand in glove.

  14. I would lay even money that some of the comments on here were written by Emma Dent Coad (EDC.) The hard left seeks to control what people think, what they say and, what they do.Left wingers are charming until someone dares to speak out against them. When someone does so, they lose control and various controlling personality characteristics come to the fore. We saw how EDC became stressed when Sam Gymiah spoke out in the run up to General Election in 2019. She was not in control so she went rushing off to the police in high dudgeon. She felt she needed to take control and did so in a very dramatic way. Her deep resentment was emotional – not political. A mature politician would make clear that they disagreed with the point being made by an opponent and would have won the argument in the political arena. Can you imagine Maggie Thatcher reporting everything she did not like in an election campaign to the police

  15. What the F does any of this have to do with Emma? You people are utterly obsessed. Having to use this website to amplify your pathetic delusions now that FTHN has finally been shut down for good. Keep crying your salty tears.

Tia, shame on you for letting these odious creatures permeate your blog. They are literally copy/pasting the same guff they come up with on FTHN. They’re so desperate to spew their venom they’ve now come onto a blog with an ever-dwindling readership in the hopes than someone, anyone, will partake in their filthy echo chamber.

THINK was also once brilliant but has gone down the pan ever since you went into cahoots with the silly old ‘Dame’ who is actually a very bitter, sick in the head, middle aged man. Not fooling anyone. If you care as much about ‘free speech’ as you profess, you’ll allow this factual comment to pass your moderator. Take as good as you give.

    1. So, you are happy that a man like Dylan who changed his name for reasons he won’t explain was able to remove a community blog because you didn’t like its views despite it getting around 40k views a month. Another rather nasty side to you is exposed to use all not just by you use of the F word but by your dislike of the middle aged. You sound well suited to be a friend of EDC!
But here some news that will stick in your throat. A new, vastly improved Hornet’s Nest will be hitting the streets in January and this time no little spiv like your friend Scott Dylan will be able to take it down….have a nice day!

    2. Dear “Someone”, this blog isn’t in “cahoots” with anyone. We stand in with The Dame and FTHN (and hope they are back very soon!) as we do with all the other local blogs, and feel very concerned when we see FTHN, arguably Kensington’s longest-running blog, taken off air, along with their entire archive. With the exception of reposts, our blog is and has always been written by THINKers.

Last year our blog had 74,103 readers, this year it so far has had 89, 885 readers – so not the “ever dwindling readership” that you might hope it would have! This very blog post itself has had at present, 6,102 views . If you are a councillor, then either which way it amounts to a far greater number of people reading our blog than the actual number of people who voted for you. Have a nice day!

Please do not be intimidated by Emma Dent Coad’s crocodile tears. The comment that begins with “What the F does any of this have to do with Emma?’ is well known to the Dame.

By now, you will know that Emma Dent Coad is a divisive figure and a nasty piece of work. People are entitled to comment on her disgraceful racist behaviour and control freaky. It is called free speech but Emma, like all marxists, only wants people to say things about her that she can control. People are entitled to blog about what a marvellous person Emma is but no one ever does. I wonder why.

    Keep up the good work.

What about Labour councillors cheering on EDC but staying in their party enjoying all the privileges of being in the Labour fold including having a job for life safe ward and being a committee chair but at the same time they’re cheering on someone who’s standing against and will take away Labour votes? They might as well be cheering on Buchan.

Why haven’t these duplicitous, double agents, been shafted out of the Labour Party?

They should all be out on their ears.

If Joe Powell is to win, it is essential that Emma Dent Coad is isolated and sent to Coventry by everyone in Kensington Labour and the surround CLPs. Emma no mates is the order of the day.

Dylan, Dent Coad and all the other nasties in the public arena who are complacently resting easy during this normal blip in reportage had better look out. The Dame refuses to be shafted.

  21. Would you vote for a defector?

Over the years, I have seen many hopefuls make a pitch to the local Conservative Association to fight the General Election. There were some good candidates who were very disappointed. None of them left our Party and stood as independents because the Party decided to choose someone else. I have never heard of a Labour person jumping ship to stand as an independent until now that is.

Vicious to draw a picture of Shaun Bailey AM being hanged.
Vengeful to bare a grudge against Francis O’Connor, after he died, by fail to acknowledge his first class work with Grenfell residents.

Emma wants to “rinse and repeat.” Rinse herself of antisemitism with voters and repeat it privately to Jeremy Corbyn to prove her left wing devotion to him.

  24. Francis O’Connor had more vitality and decency in his little finger than any of that shower who were elected to the Council to represent us. Francis did not get money from the public purse for anything that he did for us unlike that self serving shower on the Council. RBKC Councillors all benefited from a most generous stipend without having to do very much to get it.

There were a lot of unsavoury things that happened with explosive devices, graffiti, and dog shit too during the last General Election Campaign. It never happened in the history of elections in the Royal Borough, until 2019, that is. Put that in your pipe and smoke it

  30. Communist Aggressors were welcomed in to the Kensington Labour Party to make sure that four highly respected Labour councillors were drummed out.

    Like

  31. I think that is right. They were Trots, not commies, the ones who drummed out the four dedicated, hard working, Labour councillors to shore up the position for Emma Dent Coad.

Come to think of it, Trots are very well disposed to Emma Dent Coad.

When Emma was banned from standing for parliament on a Labour ticket, because of her values, it was the Trotskyite newspaper, Socialist Worker, who were the first to publish an interview with her. If memory serves me well, when she resigned from Labour, supposedly over Diane Abbott being shafted for her antisemitism, it was Socialist Worker who first banged the drum for Emma going it alone as an independent.

Therefore, in all probability, it was Trots, not communists, who leapt to Emma’s aid in the Kensington branch of the Labour Party.

You were saying that the Trotskyites in Socialist Worker Party were very sympathetic to her. You have given the evidence of the sympathy they expressed to her in their newspaper ‘Socialist Worker.” I really don’t understand why Emma is so touchy about what you have said.

I remember the Socialist Worker newspaper being very sympathetic to the former ultra left wing Labour MP for Halifax, Alice Mahon, who was a champion of working class causes. Alice Mahon, a former Nurse, would never have told someone to “F***” for mentioning something that was a source of pride to her.

The Socialist Gent, Tony Benn, would never have been so crude and coarse as to tell someone to “F***,” he was proud of his left wing credentials.

  32. I have fond memories of Alice Mahon too. One of the Greats of the Labour Movement!
A proper working class Yorkshire woman of outstanding ability!
